Our Teachers

  Sarah Ferrell

Music is one of my greatest passions- I am primarily a singer but also love to play upright bass, guitar and most recently- ukelele!  I currently play and perform with the Squash Blossom Boys, a terrific bluegrass band.  Previous projects include Green Billies (2014-2016), Three String Bale (2008-2013) and Vida, a nationally touring four-woman vocal ensemble (1995-2001).

My parents and grandparents exposed me to music at a young age through informal singing and playing and eventually formal piano lessons. This early experience gave me musical roots which have allowed me to grow musically and find great joy in life through music.

 I am the mother of 2 young music-makers (ages 7 and 11).

In addition to being a Music Together® Instructor and Licensed Music Together Center Director,  I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), Licensed Massage Therapist (#4991), Natural Therapeutics Specialist and Certified Core Synchronism Practitioner.

I have been singing and dancing for as long as I can remember.  I love to empower grown ups and little ones to discover and delight in their natural human potential to be creators: artists, dancers, and music makers!

I enjoy music-making with my own three kids (now ages 8, 10, and 14)  in all sorts of ways, especially singing with the ABQ Choir Magic intergenerational community choir, and I enjoy supporting  the growth of  spiritual communities through song as a Music that Makes Community presenter.

I hold a BFA in Ballet Performance from the University of Utah and an MA in Theology and the Arts from Pacific School of Religion. I am an ordained Episcopal Priest, and am  honored to support the spiritual exploration and growth of  all kinds of families at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and St. Mark’s Montessori School in Albuquerque.  You can learn more about me and explore a variety of resources on spirituality, music, family, and more on my website.
